Did God Really Create the World in Six 24-hour Days?

Sudden Creationism–part 1

Tough Stuff 2015

At what time of day was Adam created? A little before Eve!

What is one of the first things that Adam and Eve did after they were kicked out of the Garden? They really raised Cain.

For you men, early on Adam established his male role to Eve by stating, “I’ll wear the PLANTS in this family!”

For you ladies, what did God say after creating Adam? “I’ve got to be able to do better than that!”

The reason I share that horrible humor with you is this–Adam and Eve are no joke! They were created from the hand of God. Adam was made from dust, and Eve was made from Adam’s rib. They were not the top beings resulting from an evolutionary chain of events which finally produced a man and a woman, but they both were the direct creation of God.

This week and next, I am going to briefly and directly expose a difficult issue most Christians don’t want to deal with–did God directly, supernaturally, suddenly create this world and Adam and Eve in six 24-hour literal days? Or did God use some form of evolutionary process in order to accomplish His creation?

Our church, our elders, myself and our members affirm, on the basis of the authority of the Word of God, that God actually accomplished creation in six literal 24-hour days. And we believe it is not a preference issue, but an issue that affects 1) the Gospel, 2) your trust in the authority of God’s Word, 3) your understanding of God’s purposes on this planet, 4) your trust in the uniqueness of mankind, the crown of creation, 5) the way you look at creation and worship the Creator, 6) the way you look at other controversial issues, 7) the way you see God’s hand in His providence, and 8) the way you see the continuity of the Bible from beginning to end.

Often those who think end times don’t matter are those who think Genesis doesn’t matter. A six-day creation is a major controversy, not a minor controversy. Out of the all the major Christian colleges in our country now, only six dogmatically uphold a six literal 24-hour day creation.

Many believers uphold the idea that six literal days, as opposed to evolution or a God-guided evolution, is not a big deal–that six-day creation is a secondary issue, an issue we should not divide over. I’m not pressing for division, nor do I want to create controversy. What I want to do is teach the Bible, let it speak for itself, regardless if it contradicts the prevailing view, or so-called science, popular opinion, or those who consider themselves “educated”.

What does the Bible actually teach? Well today, there are three major belief choices, and lots of subtle minor options and exceptions–but three major belief systems:

First  You can be an EVOLUTIONIST

. . . believing over millions of years species transitioned to other species through a process of small mutations, little by little transitioning to different species

Second  You can be a THEISTIC EVOLUTIONIST

. . . believing God oversaw the transition of these species to species over the course of millions of years, OR you can believe the Bible,

Third  You can be a CREATIONIST

. . . believing God created the world in six literal 24-hour days

I believe the Bible gives you and I only one option–we should be, must be six literal 24-hour day creationists. I want to give you three major reasons–two of those this week, and the last one next week.

#1  BIBLICALLY, the overall Bible demands a six-day creation

#2 THEOLOGICALLY, sound theology demands a six-day creation, and

#3 EXEGETICALLY, the text of Scripture demands a six-day creation

#1  BIBLICALLY, the overall Bible demands a six-day creation

The Bible is filled with pointed statements calling Christ our Creator. I will be referring to many of them this morning, but allow me to read a few (not all) I will not refer to or look at, just so you can see that the Bible is filled with statements about a six literal 24-hour day creation. You’re not rejecting or rewriting or reinterpreting Genesis to believe in evolution or theistic evolution, you are undermining the authority of the entire Word of God.

Exodus 20:8 to 11, “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath of the Lord your God; in it you shall not do any work, … 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.”

Exodus 31:15 and 17, “For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there is a Sabbath of complete rest, holy to the Lord; …17 It is a sign between Me and the sons of Israel forever; for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, but on the seventh day He ceased from labor, and was refreshed.”

Deuteronomy 4:32, “…since the day that God created man on the earth.”

Isaiah 42:5, “Thus says God the Lord, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread out the earth and its offspring.”

Isaiah 45:12, “It is I who made the earth, and created man upon it. I stretched out the heavens with My hands and I ordained all their host.”

Isaiah 45:18, “For thus says the Lord, who created the heavens (He is the God who formed the earth and made it, He established it and did not create it a waste place, but formed it to be inhabited), ‘I am the Lord, and there is none else.’”

Jeremiah 10:12, “It is He who made the earth by His power, Who established the world by His wisdom; and by His understanding He has stretched out the heavens.”

Matthew 19:4, “And He answered and said, ‘Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female.’”

Mark 13:19, “For those days will be a time of tribulation such as has not occurred since the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never will.”

Acts 4:24, “They lifted their voices to God with one accord and said, ‘O Lord, it is You who made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that is in them.’”

Acts 14:15, “Preach the gospel to you that you should turn from these vain things to a living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them.”

Acts 17:24 and 26 “The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands; …26 and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation.”

Hebrews 1:10, “And, ‘You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the works of Your hands.”

Hebrews 4:4, “He has said somewhere concerning the seventh day: ‘And God rested on the seventh day from all His works.’”

Revelation 4:11, “Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created.”

Revelation 14:7b, “… worship Him who made the heaven and the earth and sea and springs of waters.”

The Bible clearly, directly, obviously, overtly declares that God is our Creator–that He made all things. And pointedly, both Old Testament and New Testament point back to Genesis as literal, real history. Our literal week is based upon the literal week of creation.

So did Jesus teach a literal 24-hour six-day creation? When you search the New Testament Scriptures, you’ll find several revealing statements Jesus made about creation. Look at Mark 10:6, “From the beginning of creation, God made them male and female.” Jesus clearly taught creation was young, for Adam and Eve existed from the beginning, not billions of years after the universe and earth came into existence.

Our Lord made a similar statement in Mark 13:19, “For those days will be a time of tribulation such as has not occurred since the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never will.” Luke 11 contains the parallel phrases in verses 50 and 51, “So that the blood of all the prophets, shed since the foundation of the world, may be charged against this generation, 51 from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah.”

This indicates Jesus placed Abel very close to the beginning of creation, not billions of years after the beginning. His Jewish listeners would assume this meaning in Jesus’ words, for the first century Jewish historian Josephus indicates the Jews believed both the first day of creation and Adam’s creation were about 5,000 years before Christ.

In John 5:45 to 47 Jesus says, “’Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father; the one who accuses you is Moses, in whom you have set your hope. 46 For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me, for he wrote about Me. 47 But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?’” Here Christ makes it clear one must believe what Moses wrote.

And one of the passages Moses writes is Exodus 20:11, “For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.” This is the basis for our seven-day week–six days of work and one day of rest. Obviously this passage was meant to describe a total of seven literal days based on the creation week of six literal days of work and one literal day of rest.

In fact in Luke 13:14, in his response to Christ healing a person on the Sabbath, the ruler of the synagogue, who knew the law of Moses, refers to this passage, “The synagogue official, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, began saying to the crowd in response, ‘There are six days in which work should be done; so come during them and get healed, and not on the Sabbath day.’”

The Sabbath day here was considered an ordinary 24-hour day, and the six days of work were considered ordinary 24-hour days. This teaching is based on the Law of Moses as recorded in Exodus 20, where we find the Ten Commandments–the six-day creation week being the basis for the Fourth Commandment. Jesus also treated these Old Testament accounts as historical fact, which skeptics want to declare are only mythology or poetry.

Think about it–these historical accounts include:

Adam and Eve as the first married couple in Matthew 19

Abel as the first prophet who was killed in Luke 11

Noah and the flood in Matthew 24

Moses and the serpent in the wilderness in John 3

Moses and the manna from Heaven to feed the Israelites in the wilderness in John 6

Lot and his wife in Luke 17

Judgment of Sodom and Gomorrah in Matthew 10

Miracles of Elijah in Luke 4

Jonah and the big fish in Matthew 12

Our Lord didn’t allegorize these accounts–they were not poetry, but Christ taught them as straightforward history, describing events that actually happened just as the Old Testament describes. And Christ used these accounts to teach His disciples that the events of His death, resurrection, and Second Coming would likewise certainly happen in time-space reality—literally. These passages taken together strongly imply Jesus believed Genesis 1 as literal history, describing creation in six 24-hour days.

Are there more explicit passages and direct truths? YES. Because Christ is the second person of the Trinity, God incarnate, we also see His work in six-day creation in both Old Testament and New Testament. Colossians makes it clear that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was the one who created all things. Colossians 1:16 to 17, “For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”

We’re also told in Scripture how Jesus created. Psalm 33:6 and 9, “By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and by the breath of His mouth all their host. 9 For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.” Now think–what does that mean, He spoke and it was done? He commanded and it stood fast? Well consider the miracles of Christ during His earthly ministry–all the miracles occurred instantly, at His Word.

In John 2, He instantly turned water into wine in His very first miracle, which “revealed His glory” as the Creator. It was an instant when He calmed the wind and the waves that convinced His disciples He was no mere man. With all His miracles, He didn’t speak then wait for days, weeks, months, or years for things to happen. He spoke and it was done.

It’s baffling to me how some will believe Christ’s New Testament miracles, clearly giving evidence of His instant, supernatural, creative power, but they refuse to see Christ as the instant Creator in Genesis 1. When Christ said, “Let there be . . .” in Genesis 1, it did not take long ages for things to come into existence.

We also know Jesus is in fact called the Word in John 1:1 to 3. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.” Jesus, who is the Word, created everything by simply speaking things into existence.

Theologians agree, it is the role of the second person of the Trinity to manifest Himself to mankind, and I believe that also means to speak to God’s prophets as well. In fact, John 1:18 states, “No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him.”

There is no doubt (with rare exception), it was the pre-incarnate Christ who did the speaking to Adam, Noah, the patriarchs, Moses, etc. So when the Creator, Christ, spoke in Exodus 20:1, “Then God spoke all these words, saying . . .”, what did Christ say in verse 11? “For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.”

Christ explicitly says He created in six days. Not only this, but the one who spoke the words “six days” also wrote them down for Moses on two tablets of stone in Deuteronomy 9:10. How much clearer and more authoritative can you get than that? To reject a six literal 24-hour day creation, you have to undermine or change the words of Christ Himself, since Christ believed in it!

So how did the other biblical authors view Genesis? The genealogies of Jesus in Matthew 1 and especially Luke 3 prove that Genesis 1 through 11 is historical narrative. Luke 3:23 and 28, “When He began His ministry, Jesus Himself was about thirty years of age, being, as was supposed, the son of Joseph, the son of Eli, 38 the son of Enosh, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God.” The genealogies must all be equally historical, or else we must conclude Jesus was descended from a myth–therefore He would not be a real human being, and therefore could not be our Savior.

Paul relied heavily on Genesis as written, as historical fact. Paul built his doctrine of sin and salvation on the fact that sin and death entered the world exclusively through Adam. Jesus, as the Last Adam, came into the world to bring righteousness and life to people, and to undo the damaging work of the first Adam. First Corinthians 15:21 and 22, “For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.” Paul affirmed in 1 Timothy 2:13, “For it was Adam who was first created, and then Eve. 14 And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.” The serpent deceived Eve, not Adam.

Paul took Genesis 1 to 2 literally, by affirming Adam was created first and Eve was made from the body of Adam. First Corinthians 11:8 and 9, “For man does not originate from woman, but woman from man; 9 for indeed man was not created for the woman’s sake, but woman for the man’s sake.” Adam was made from dust and Eve was made from Adam, not some long evolutionary process that finally coughed up a man and woman. No, the first couple were the direct creation of God on day six.

Peter similarly based some of his teachings on the literal history of Genesis 1 through 11. In 1 Peter 3:20, “who once were disobedient, when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through the water.” Second Peter 2:5, “… God … did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly.” Second Peter 3:3 to 6, “Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, 4 and saying, ‘Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.’ 5 … it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water, 6 through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water.”

Peter considered the account of Noah and the flood just as historical as the account of Sodom and Gomorrah. Peter affirmed only eight people were saved, the flood was global, just as the future judgment at the Second Coming of Christ will be. And he argued that scoffers will deny the Second Coming because they deny the supernatural creation and Noah’s flood, and told his readers that scoffers will do this because they will reason using uniformitarian naturalism as their argument. That is actually a foundation for evolution–“all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”

Others object and say the apostles did not know the difference between truth and myth, between the literal history and poetry. But this is also false. In 1 Corinthians 10:1 to 11 Paul refers to a number of passages from the Pentateuch where miracles are described, and Paul emphasizes in verses 6 and 11 that “these things happened.” In 2 Timothy 4:3 to 4 Paul also wrote, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, 4 and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to fables or myths.”

The Greek word translated here as “fables” is muthos, from which we get our English word “myth”. In many passages, the Greek word for truth or sound doctrine is used in contrast to the Greek word “myth”. In a first century world, filled with Greek, Roman, and Jewish myths, the apostles clearly knew the difference between truth and myth. They constantly affirmed the Word of God as truth, not myth.

We should take Genesis 1 to 11 as straightforward, accurate, literal history because Jesus, the Apostles, and all the other biblical writers did so. There is absolutely no biblical basis for taking these chapters as any kind of non-literal, figurative or poetic genre of literature. That should be reason enough for us to interpret Genesis 1 to 11 in the same literal way. But there are two other crucial reasons to do so. Biblically, God clearly declares that creation was six literal days–Jesus clearly declares it, and the Apostles dogmatically claim it. But creation is also a theological issue–a crucial one.

#2  THEOLOGICALLY, sound theology demands a 6-day creation

Is a six literal 24-hour day creation all that important? Is it really an issue that affects the Gospel? Can’t we just ignore it, or embrace evolution, or say we just don’t know? A thousand times NO! Friends, a wrong view on this issue affects the Gospel, your salvation, and the integrity of the Word of God. Only a literal, historical approach to Genesis 1 through 11 gives a proper foundation for the Gospel and a future hope of the Gospel.

Jesus came into the world to solve the problem of sin that started in real, time-space history, in the real Garden of Eden, with two real people called Adam and Eve, and a real serpent that spoke to Eve. The sin of Adam and Eve resulted in spiritual and physical death for them, but also a divine curse on all of the once “very good” creation.

Jesus is coming again to liberate all Christians and the creation itself from that bondage to corruption according to Romans 8. Then there will be a new Heaven and a new Earth, where righteousness dwells and where sin, death, and natural evils will be no more. Now here’s the theology problem. A non-literal reading of Genesis destroys this message of the Bible, and ultimately is an assault on the character of God.

You ask, “How does not believing a six literal 24-hour day creation do all that?” Let me show you, by having you read these passages.

Genesis 2:17, “But from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.”

Romans 5:12, 15, 19, “Just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned. 15 For if by the transgression of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many. 19 For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous.”

Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 8:19 to 22, “For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now.”

First Corinthians 15:21, “For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.”

The Bible clearly states that sin was the cause of death. Sin is what brought about death. Sin is what brought death into the world. That is essential to the Gospel. We are all under bondage to sin because of Adam’s choice to sin. We are under sin because Adam corrupted the entire human race. If you accept, buy into, or embrace evolution, or worse theistic evolution, you have to say that is literally not true.

You see, if God used any kind, any type, any brand of evolutionary process to bring about creation, any kind–then there had to be death before the fall, death before Adam sinned. Death before Genesis 3. If evolution is true, then animals were killing each other long before Adam fell. Survival of the fittest demands death, and believing in death before the fall is a major assault on the Gospel. This is a serious theological violation, and an outright attack on the Gospel. If there was sin before Adam, then the Gospel is not true.

You understand survival of the fittest–the long process of the millions of years of species mutations requires death, after death, after death, after death. A mini-horse type creature would die, then a larger horse might be born and survive for a hundred generations of birth and death. To embrace evolution, you have to say there was death before Genesis 3, before Adam, before creation was under sin. And friends, that is heresy. That’s what makes embracing evolution a negative Gospel issue.

There was a man who visited FBC this year, about four Sundays in a row. He was sharp, knew his Bible, and every week tried to interact with me about the sermon, exposing his knowledge of Scripture. On week four he said, “This is not the kind of church that makes an issue of creation, is it? After all, that’s not a Gospel issue. It doesn’t affect the Gospel.” I said, “Yes it does.” I also said, “Now, we can love you, you can be a part of us, but we will teach a six literal 24-hour day creation, and we believe it is a big deal, not a small one.” I was (strangely) gracious—but I’ve not seen him since that Sunday.

Why did I say what I did? The entire Gospel is built upon the fall of man into sin in Genesis 3. If you believe the Bible, you can’t say there was death before the fall in Genesis 3. But that is what evolution and theistic evolution demand you believe. You must believe there were millions of years of death and dying and survival of the fittest before Genesis 3—and I believe that erodes the Word of God, and it undermines the very Gospel we hold as precious.

#1  BIBLICALLY, the overall bible demands a six-day creation

#2  THEOLOGICALLY, sound theology demands six-day creation, and next week Genesis one,

#3  EXEGETICALLY, the text of Scripture demands a six-day creation

1  Do you really trust your BIBLE as your authority?

In John 10:34 to 35 Jesus defended His claim to deity by quoting from Psalm 82:6, and then asserting that “Scripture cannot be broken”–that is, the Bible is faithful, reliable, and truthful. The Scriptures cannot be contradicted or confounded.

In Luke 24:25 to 27 Jesus rebuked His disciples for not believing all that the prophets have spoken (which He equates with “all the Scriptures”). So in Jesus’ view, all Scripture is trustworthy and should be believed.

Another way Jesus revealed His complete trust in the Scriptures was by treating as historical fact the accounts in the Old Testament, which most contemporary people think are unbelievable mythology. These historical accounts include:

Adam and Eve as the first married couple (Matthew 19:3 to 6Mark 10:3 to 9)

Abel as the first prophet who was martyred (Luke 11:50 to 51)

Noah and the flood (Matthew 24:38 to 39)

Lot and his wife (Luke 17:28 to 32)

Judgment of Sodom and Gomorrah (Matthew 10:15)

Moses and the serpent in the wilderness wanderings after the exodus from Egypt (John 3:14)

Moses and the manna from heaven (John 6:32 to 3349)

Miracles of Elijah (Luke 4:25 to 27)

Jonah in the big fish (Matthew 12:40 to 41)

Jesus also indicated the Scriptures are essentially clear. Eleven times the gospel writers record Jesus saying, “Have you not read . . . ?” And thirty times Jesus defended His teaching by saying, “It is written.” He rebuked His listeners for not understanding nor believing what the text plainly and literally says.

Listen, Jesus was not merely accommodating the cultural beliefs of His day by affirming a six-day creation. Jesus is the truth (John 14:6), therefore He always spoke the truth. No deceitful or misleading words ever came from His mouth. Even His enemies said in Mark 12:14, “Teacher, we know that You are truthful and defer to no one; for You are not partial to any, but teach the way of God in truth.”

Jesus taught with authority on the basis of God’s Word, which He called truth, not as the scribes and Pharisees taught based on their traditions. What would He say to you today concerning His creation of this universe, this earth, the first couple, and you?

2  Do you embrace your SIN as what causes your death and damnation?

You’re fallen because the very first man and very first woman chose to sin, corrupted their nature, and died in their sins. They were not a man and woman who finally achieved human status over millions of years of species transition, but a man whom God formed out of the dust of the ground and breathed life into, and a woman who was formed from one of Adam’s ribs and breathed into as well.

And because of their sin, you are a sinner by nature. You sin because you are a sinner, not a sinner because you sin. You can’t help but sin–you love sin. You’re a rebel–you don’t like being told what to do. You are fallen–you can’t help but do those things God hates. This will be the only heaven you know, for when you die you will experience the second death–Hell forever, because the wages of sin is death. You are in trouble! This is bad news, but there is good news.

If you cry out to Christ to save you, God loved you so much, God himself became a man and paid the wages of sin, died in your place, took the punishment that should have come to you, then rose from the dead to prove it was all true. Give Him your life, beg him to forgive you–come to Him, listen to Him, turn to Him, surrender to Him.

3  Could God have created the WORLD in six days?

You can believe that God used some evolutionary process through death, struggle and millions of years, finally coughed up an Adam and Eve. Or you can believe God specifically and specially created a man and a woman in His own image, designed marriage for only a man and a woman, designed the seven-day week, and more. Then Adam and Eve rebelled against God, and their sin brought about death and the corruption of creation we are waiting to be delivered from someday soon, and only Christ, the last Adam, can free us from.

There are two main truths we will worship God for in eternity–one is our salvation, and the other is our creation. Are you going to worship Him as Creator, or as the God who brought this world about through millions of years of suffering and death, through a cruel evolutionary process contrary to the entire Bible?

4  Do you truly believe God does the SUPERNATURAL?

Because I believe the sign gifts belonged to the Apostolic age, I am sometimes accused of being non-supernatural—as if I don’t think God could do a miracle if He chose. Listen friends, I believe in angels, the rapture, tribulation, Second Coming and Kingdom of Christ on Earth. I believe the sun stood still for Joshua, and Jonah was in a great fish for three literal days. I believe Jesus did all His miracles, created bread and fish, controlled the weather with a word, and raised the dead.

I believe God is providential, orchestrating every person, every will, every circumstance, every situation to accomplish His perfect will every single time, in every detail of life—that’s miraculous. I believe this because the Bible clearly teaches this. And I believe God not only could, but did create this world in six literal 24-hour days because the Bible clearly teaches it, and there is plenty of scientific evidence for it.

And in this particular case, it almost seems as if I am the wacky, crazy, rolling in the aisles Christian, because I believe God created the earth in six literal 24-hour days, and not through an evolutionary process which the secular world has embraced because they don’t want to be accountable to the God who made them, and not because they have scientific proof. They don’t. And friends, I am good with that–I hope you are too. Your pastors and elders are wild men who believe the Bible literally, so they affirm God as the one who created the world in six literal days like He said He did.

And next week, Genesis one . . .

#3  EXEGETICALLY, the text demands a six-day creation

Let’s pray. First Timothy 4:4, “For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with gratitude.”
