The Determination of a Winning Athlete (2 Timothy 2:5)
We continue to exposit 2 Timothy 2, with Paul’s plea to Timothy to live aggressively–not only like a coach or like a soldier, but like an athlete. It will encourage your determination for Christ, your focus on Christ, and your satisfaction in Christ.
Authentic Believers live like Soldiers (2 Timothy 2:3-4)
Paul commands Timothy to live and minister like a soldier. The Christian life is not passive, but aggressive. When a Christian lives like a soldier, he can live more fruitfully and more effectively for God’s glory.
The Priority of Training Men (2 Timothy 2:1-2)
Paul will instruct Timothy and you about the power to train, the procedure to train and the price to train others. All parents, disciplers, shepherds and those who care about the next generation will love this.
The Journey – FBC’s Fifteenth Anniversary 2018
We are highlighting many of the distinctives of FBC and celebrating our future plans, as we celebrate God’s grace and goodness to the family of FBC.
The Power of Courageous Example (2 Timothy 1:15-18)
Paul motivates Timothy with the positive impact of a courageous example and the negative impact of a cowardly example. In verses 15-18, Paul encourages Timothy to be a model that actually promotes Christ-like courage. This is encouraging truth especially for dads, disciplers, men and women.
Only the Few—the Task of the Courageous (2 Timothy 1:12-14)
Second Timothy 1:12-14 is Paul’s instruction to Timothy on how you can grow courageous. Paul hopes Timothy will grow confident in Christ and firmly committed to God’s Word in order to live unashamed, not embarrassed and increase in boldness over Christ, the Gospel and his ministry. You and I need this passage.
Stop Being Embarrassed (2 Timothy 1:8-11)
Paul challenges Timothy to stand up and shout for Christ. Are you willing to stand tall and suffer for Christ and the good news of the Gospel message? If you have ever shied away from speaking up about Christ, this will be a great encouragement.
Living Hot (2 Timothy 1:6-7)
If lukewarm means you are a non-Christian (and it does), then what does it mean when a Christian cools down and stops living hot? Paul instructs Timothy to stir up the heat and manifest the fire within in 1 Timothy 1:6-7. Learn how to be living hot by using your giftedness as a believer and living bold as a believer by trusting in God.
The Focus of Genuine Friendship (2 Timothy 1:3-5)
In 2 Timothy chapter 1, verses 3 to 5, Paul enriches us with an intimate example of solid friendship. If you have ever struggled in marriage, battled with family, wrestled with friends, or have been overwhelmed in relationships, this sermon is for you.
Truth Trumps Relationship, and other greetings (2 Timothy 1:1-2)
You would not believe the truth, the love and the Gospel saturating the first two verses of 2 Timothy, as we introduce this very intimate and vital New Testament letter. Get ready to hear the Gospel, be informed, learn some theology and be transformed.
The Shepherd Psalm (Psalm 23)
Like a good shepherd cares for his sheep, so the Lord cares for His people. Because of who God is, we can look to Him to be our help.
Let’s Go!!!! (Psalm 103)
Psalm 103 reminds us that our life is to be marked by the worship of God. As we reflect upon His amazing love and His grace toward undeserving sinners, we are called to turn our affections toward Him and lift up His name in praise.
