Gethsemane—Our Strong High Priest (Matt. 26:36-46)
On the cross, Jesus acted as our high priest. In the Garden of Gethsemane, we see the burden of Christ for us and the boldness with which He approached His sacrifice for us.
Be Wise About Preventing Adultery (Proverbs 5)
We will be studying Proverbs chapter 5 and expositing God’s Word to discover God’s wisdom about purity and to flee adultery.
Be Wise About Your Fear (Proverbs 1:7)
What does it mean to fear the Lord? Most Christians are unsure. Are we to be afraid of God? Or does fear mean something different than outright fear? It’s used throughout the Bible, but an outsized proportion is found in Proverbs. Join us this week as we kick off our study of Proverbs by looking at how the fear of the Lord is “the beginning of knowledge” (Prov 1:7) and “the beginning of wisdom” (Prov 9:10).
Wisdom in Purity (Moms by Grace – Mar 2018)
What often comes to your mind when you hear the word, purity? The Bible has so much to say about the purity of our hearts and our minds, as well as our bodies. Learn how to grow in purity in every area of your life.
The Harvest is Plentiful but the Workers are Few (Matthew 9:36-38)
The greatest need in the world is for lost souls to come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ and the greatest need in the church is for there to be more workers to participate in the sharing of the gospel to a lost world.
No No No! – Romans 8
The doctrine of assurance is one of the most important doctrines for each and every Christian. Romans 8 might just be the most comforting passage in the entire Bible. Listen to find out why.
What to do with your Treasure? (1 Timothy 6:17-21)
Paul concludes his letter to his apostolic assistant by asking him what his treasure is. He gives instruction to the materially rich and the spiritually rich. What is true treasure, and what are we to do with our treasure? Paul actually exposes one of the indicators of maturity—what you do with your wealth and what you do with God’s Word actually expose your genuine level of maturity. Paul will wrap it all up with an encouragement for all of us to depend on Christ alone.
The Mission and Motivation of the Minister (1 Timothy 6:11-16)
Paul challenges Timothy with the mission and motivation of the minister. What must Christians who seek to impact others flee from, follow after, fight for, and be future-minded about? What motivates your daily life if not the incredible character of God Himself? Chapter 6:11-16 will blow you away with what keeps Paul, Timothy, and all believers motivated to live for Christ.
Wisdom in Finances (Moms by Grace – Feb 2018)
Being wise in our finances begins with the heart issues. Learn how to apply God’s Word to this important area of your life.
Earthly Gain or Eternal Satisfaction (1 Timothy 6:2c-10)
Paul contrasts the greedy false teachers with the contentedness of godly believers. It is all about money! It’s going be challenging and practical.
Labor Relations to the Glory of God (1 Timothy 6:1-2b)
Paul will continue to instruct each of us at FBC how we must treat one another in order to reflect God’s nature and character, particularly in the workplace.
The Care and Feeding of Elders (1 Timothy 5:17-25)
Paul instructs Timothy and Ephesus in an area every church member must know. Do elders need special treatment, special care, unique treatment? God says, “Yes!” And you should know what to do concerning the care and feeding of elders. It will open our eyes to spiritual leadership, God’s holiness, and the purity of the church in a whole new way.
