We are citizens of a better place. We belong somewhere else. This life is only temporary. Paul’s been telling us his death would be gain, so he now exhorts us to live in the light of our future home, Heaven. All Christians are headed to our home–a home we have not seen, a home we have not been to yet, but is so awesome we can’t even imagine its wonders.
