A Biblical View on Work
Most people will work at their jobs for more than 80,000 hours in their lifetime. That’s an amazing amount of time committed to one part of your life. God’s Word has a lot to say about our labor, our job and our work. Whether that’s at home taking care of four rug rats, being in an office behind a desk, on the roads or at a construction site, our God is concerned about how a Christian works.
So in this message, we will study God’s Word to discover God’s view of work, expose some misconceptions about work, highlight some major pitfalls Christians fall into about work, and, most importantly, uncover what a believer’s purpose is in the workplace and how we can be successful in it!
Pornography: Engaging in the Battle Against Sexual Sin
We will examine the topic of pornography and sexual sin. You need to see the devastating effects of sexual sin and look to the Lord Jesus Christ to find how those who are struggling can be freed from its grip. You may be surprised but, the answer to fighting sexual sin is the same as fighting any other sin. The remedy for every type of sin will be very clear.
The Elephant in the Room: Learning How to Deal with Sin in Your Life and in the Church Family
Church discipline–when you hear the words, what do you think of? It is God’s command to the Church to be holy and to deal with defiant sin. Over and over, the Scriptures describe different ways that the Church is to lovingly correct those who profess Christ but are resistant and obstinate to His revealed will in the Bible. This message will unpack all that God’s Word says about the Church’s loving care and correction of itself.
Understanding God’s Love
The subject of Calvinism and Arminianism, and more particularly predestination, has much to do with the question, “Who does God love?” Does God love everyone in exactly the same way? Is God’s love always unconditional? Can God’s love be earned? Be careful–your answers could place you inside biblical evangelicalism or make you a heretic. Now let’s consider what God’s Word says.
Homosexuality: How Are We to Respond?
Last week, we looked at different approaches to Biblical teaching on homosexuality. Some Christians have reinterpreted Scripture through experience to allow for homosexuality, the plain reading of Scripture is understood even by non-Christians. Homosexual behavior is sin, and opposes God’s clear design. How are we as Christians to respond? Many of you know someone–your homosexual neighbor, coworker, son or daughter? Maybe it’s you personally. Has He called you to singleness or sexual frustration? The Bible offers answers–learn how to respond with truth and grace.

Surely you’ve noticed that same-sex relationships have become the new norm–visible from the shopping mall to the Supreme Court. As Christians, are we on the wrong side of history? If the Church got it wrong on racism, who’s to say we haven’t been handling homosexuality wrong too? This week we’ll be looking in-depth at what God’s Word really says about homosexuality. Then next week–how should we respond?
The Creation of the World (Genesis 1)
The foundation of all Christian doctrines is found in Genesis, and a correct understanding of creation is vitally important. The text of Genesis 1 demands a literal six-day creation. Walk through each day of creation and learn what the Bible clearly teaches!
Did God Create the World in Six 24-hour Days?
There are three main theories about the beginning of our world–evolution, God started and guided the evolutionary process, or did He create the world as we know it today? Is the earth young or old, and does it matter? The Bible is clear, so it is vital to understand and embrace the truth.
