The Majesty of Christ During a Travesty of Justice (Mark 14:53-59)
Most of us have struggled with the decline of justice in our legal system, and this passage will again confirm that there is nothing new under the sun. In Mark 14, our Lord has been arrested but is now being illegally and unjustly tried. His trial is a mockery of justice and a clear violation of the Law. How do Christians violate the law? How should you respond when life is unjust and unfair? How is Christ on trial in your heart?
God Works Differently in Each Person (Mark 14:43-52)
Through the betrayal and arrest of Christ, we see how God works all things to accomplish His will–and His absolute power as He allows men to bind him and take Him away. And this is also about struggles we have all experienced–betrayal, hate, impetuousness, violence, desertion, and how God uses them to transform us and accomplish His plan.
The Magnificent Heart of Christ (Mark 14:37-42)
In the midst of His agony, as Christ continues to wrestle with the Father over the spiritual weight of the coming cross, under so much stress He bleeds through His pores and God the Father sends an angel to minister to His Son–Christ does something that will amaze you, as He demonstrates an amazing caring love for His men, for you, and His holiness.

A Pressure You Will Never Experience (Mark 14:32-36)
In Mark 14:32 to 36, Christ is in the Garden of Gethsemane praying in agony. This is one of the most eye opening, Christ revealing, life changing and God-exalting passages in this gospel. You will see things, learn things, and be blown away by what this event exposes about our Lord. What He goes through in these verses is something only Christ will ever experience, but He does it for you.
Beware of Thinking You Can’t Mess Up (Mark 14:27-31)
The first sin in the world is the worst sin in the world and it shows its ugly face in Mark 14:27 to 31. The Lord is walking to the Garden of Gethsemane, and He informs His men that they are about to fall, fail, and freak out. They all are about to abandon Christ as He faces His greatest trial. Peter asserts he’s even willing to die for Christ, reminding all of us to beware of thinking we can’t mess up.
The Importance of Regular Remembering (Mark 14:22-26)
We return to Mark 14 and the very first Communion service. Here we’ll hear the Lord’s heart on the importance of remembering, see some Reformation controversy between Luther and Zwingli, be pushed to develop a lower view of ourselves and a higher view of God, be challenged to deal with unjust treatment, and hear the Gospel call us to be “one of the many.”
The Worship Scene (Revelation 4-5)
In this passage there are four essential characteristics to corporate worship which we need to understand and practice today in the church. God is a holy God and therefore we must be careful to worship Him appropriately. If we apply these four principles when we meet together for corporate worship, then we will be more genuine and more authentic in our public expressions of worship.
Heart Attitudes for the New Year (Colossians 3:12-17)
We’re taking a short break from Mark to get our hearts ready for this New Year. What attitudes should characterize your speech and actions as you live for Christ in 2015? We’ll be looking at how Paul answers this in Colossians 3:12 to 17. You’ll find encouragement, help and challenge to live out your identity in Christ.

Love For and Shrewd Dealings With a Traitor (Mark 14:12-21)
As Christ continues to be led to the cross, this week Mark 14:12 to 21 exposes how to deal with a traitor. Some of us have dealt with a Judas in ministry, as a parent with a child, with a fellow employee or another student, an employer, a friend, or a disciple. In our passage this week, our Lord displayed incredible love toward Judas, this lowest of all betrayers–but He also demonstrated amazing shrewdness. Learn to dependently follow Christ’s example when someone close turns against you, and understand how to be loving and shrewd.
Heart Driven Devotion (Mark 14:1-11)
God is leading Christ to be crucified at 3 pm Friday, just when all the Passover lambs are being slaughtered, since Christ will be the final sufficient Lamb who takes away the sins of the world. In this message we look at 14:1-11 as the religious leaders and Judas begin their betrayal plans. In the middle of this passage is a lavish act of devotion, as Mary douses Christ with $80,000 worth of perfume in preparation for His death.
