Community Sermon-Listening

By Nigel Shailer | January 12, 2014

How do “sermon-listening” and “fellowship” go together? We will examine ways to rediscover and practice community sermon-listening in the local church.

What Makes a Christian Strong? (Psalm 1)

By John Pleasnick | January 5, 2014

You have an INCREDIBLE TREASURE in your hands–and my question to you this morning is, what do you do with this amazing treasure? Do you realize the value and worth of what you hold? On a daily basis, do you give consideration to the riches you have in your hands? The Word of God is the key to the Christian life. The more you read it, the more you listen to it, the better you understand it–the more clear and confident you can be that you know God and understand His ways.

The Danger of Distraction (Mark 9:43-50) Part 2

By Chris Mueller | December 15, 2013

At the end of Mark 9, Jesus brings the most extreme challenge in the entire book of Mark. These verses are a gut-level wake-up call. Our Lord will shock us so we truly embrace the destructiveness of sin, and embrace the need to live holy, because great danger demands drastic action.

Humility: Living Last in a “Me First” World (Mark 9:30-37)

By Chris Mueller | November 24, 2013

How can the disciples go from seeing Christ in all His glory to having a prideful conversation about “who is the greatest?” Don’t we often lose sight of God’s greatness and fall into the same trap of a prideful heart? Hear about the ultimate example of humility in Christ Jesus, and how we are to follow His amazing example.

Fortifying Your Faith (Mark 9:14-29) Part 2

By Chris Mueller | November 17, 2013

Here we see Jesus demonstrating His power, authority and love while He calls the boy’s father to believe. The father responds with, “I do believe; help my unbelief,” which is one of the most abused verses in the Bible. Sadly, Bible teachers have ripped it from its context and made it the rationale for claiming all your wishes will come true if you can just work up enough faith. We will discover what it really means, while fueling our hearts to live by faith.

Fortifying Your Faith (Mark 9:14-29) Part 1

By Chris Mueller | November 10, 2013

We are often told, “Trust in God,” or “Grow in your faith!” Unfortunately, those statements are often misunderstood in the church, and believers don’t know how to practically live them out.
