Evaluating the Pattern of Your Life (3 John)
Every day, you make choices that will either (a) cost you, or (b) cost the church & its mission. You may diminish the name of God by exalting yourself, or you may diminish your own status & privileges for the sake of exalting Christ. Third John presents two patterns of life and asks you to choose which one you’ll follow.
Living for the Truth of the Gospel (2 John)
What would you say – if you had only a postcard to record your thoughts? Second John records some of the apostle John’s last words to people he loved deeply. He reminds us of three ways that we’re to walk in the truth.

We need to own the reality of traitors in our midst. In the Church, there are real believers and make-believers. There are genuine Christians, and so-called Christians. There are wolves in sheep’s clothing, false teachers, apostates. There are wheat believers, and there are tares in the Church.
Real Men 9-11: Unsung Servants (Mark 3:18)
Each one of us has a job to do as a steward of your gifts. To not pursue this service to the church is a sin of omission. It’s like being an organ in the body, but useless to the body.
Real Man 8: Mr. Devoted Pessimist (Mark 3:18)
Sinful bents are tough to temper or get rid of. It requires a constant focus on the Gospel, reckoning ourselves dead to sin, continual dependence upon the Spirit, and obedience to war against sin.

Real Man 7: Mr. Despicable (Mark 3:18)
We are deeply sinful, flawed, broken, despicable people. The only difference between our inner persons is this–some of us show our sinful natures outwardly more than others, but all of us are capable of horrible sin and cruel behavior. And every person alive is tremendously guilty.
Real Man #6 Nathanael, Mr. Genuine (Mark 3:18 & John 1:43-51)
Being authentic is desperately needed today, and that is why the New Testament calls for Christians to be sincere and genuine. Of all people on the planet, Christians are to be the most genuine.
