Confidence in God When Life’s Unfair (1 Pet 5:10-11)
One of the main truths in these last verses of 1 Peter is to remind us that it doesn’t matter what is happening to you as a Christian, but that our God cares for His children.
Remain on Alert, Resist Your Enemy (1 Pet 5:8-9)
Peter wants his readers to remember they’re in a war, the enemy is real, and that this enemy is behind much of the evil that is attacking them so that they will remain alert and resist Him.
Are You Humble Enough to be Carefree? (1 Pet 5:6-7)
Peter wants his readers to stand firm in grace when they experience trials and persecution and difficulties. And in verses 6 and 7 he commands those churches and us today to respond in a very unique way. Peter commands you to respond to trials with humility.
How You See Humility in the Church (1 Pet 5:5)
As he wraps up this letter, Peter exhorts the elders, the young men, and the entire congregation. But how are we to stand firm when it gets difficult? Humility.
Humble Shepherds and Sheep (1 Pet 5:2-4)
The key quality to a healthy church is humility, and Peter tells three groups in these verses how humility must be manifested. For the elder team, the spiritual leaders of each church, humility is demonstrated through shepherding God’s sheep.
Elders: Parents of the Church Family (1 Pet 5:1)
Under the headship of Christ, a father seeks to lead his home according to the Word of God and by the power of the Spirit and under the headship of Christ, an eldership seeks to lead a local church according to the Word of God and by the power of the Spirit.
