Some Things to Look Forward to (Dan 12:4-13)

By Chris Mueller | September 20, 2009

As Daniel wraps up his amazing letter, God also gives Daniel, Israel and us today some things to look forward to–the good stuff. In the final verses of chapter 12, the Lord gives us some answers through some angels who ask the same kind of questions we do. They want to know what is coming. Even with all that has already been revealed in Daniel, there is still more to know, and in the closing chapter there are some truths to look forward to.

Cliffs Notes on Eschatology (Dan 12:1-3)

By Chris Mueller | September 13, 2009

You are going to get a shortcut to the end times, a quick way to understand eschatology, the study of last things. Daniel gives us an overview of the end times in Daniel chapter 12. Daniel will bring clarity to an area most Christians are fuzzy about.

The A-List of Warmongers from the Future (Dan 11:36-45)

By Chris Mueller | September 6, 2009

God made it easy for us to believe His future plan for Israel and us by making over a hundred detailed prophecies that all came true within 250 years of Daniel’s writing (the immediate future) so that we would not struggle with the rest of the chapter, which predicts a time that is even future to us (the eschatological future).

The A-List of Warmongers from the Past (Dan 11:1-35)

By Chris Mueller | August 30, 2009

No matter how hard people try to put an end to human conflict, peace continues to elude our grasp. Why is that? James put his finger on the human reason. Observe what he says in James 4:1-2a, “What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is not the source your pleasures that wage war in your members? You lust and do not have; so you commit murder. And you are envious and cannot obtain; so you fight and quarrel.”

The Spiritual Warfare of Angels, Demons, and the Saints (Dan 10)

By Chris Mueller | August 23, 2009

The Bible speaks more about angels and demons than true Bible-believing Christians do, or Bible-believing churches teach. I am thankful we have come to a chapter in the Bible which will help us understand the truth about angels and demons.

Precision Planning (Dan 9:20-27)

By Chris Mueller | August 16, 2009

The prophecy of Daniel 9 and the prophecy of the seventy weeks are very precise and detailed. This prophecy details Israel’s future, the first coming of Christ, the work of the antichrist and more.

The Agony of Defeat (Psalm 51)

By John Pleasnick | August 9, 2009

We love to watch success and failure, because we feel them both in our own lives. Isn’t it true that you could describe your own Christian walk in the same way? You have sweet times of communion and fellowship with God. And then there are the hard times and train wrecks that cause us to lose all our joy.

Increasing Your Passion to Pray (Dan 9:1-19)

By Chris Mueller | July 26, 2009

For Daniel, prayer was so important. A decree went out for no one to worship anyone but the king. Daniel ignored the command, continued to do what he’d always been doing, and prayed three times a day. Daniel wouldn’t stop praying, even though it meant he’d be thrown into a den of hungry lions. That’s not a pleasant way to die. How important is prayer to you?

Evil Men are Coming (Dan 8)

By Chris Mueller | July 19, 2009

Daniel is upset by what God reveals to him in chapter 8. What causes Daniel to be shaken? He sees two great powers in conflict, then an evil man rising up from the second great power who persecutes God’s people. But as the prophecy continues, an angel explains that this evil man seems to foreshadow another man, who is coming in the future, who is even more evil and deadly than the first.
