— LAST SUNDAY'S SERMON —
In Matthew 7:28–29, we conclude by considering The Amazing Authority of Christ. The sermon on the mount wraps up with the reaction of the crowd to Christ, which was AMAZEMENT without repentance. This Sunday, we will examine our hearts, embrace the greatness of our SAVIOR, and learn much about him.
What God Thinks of Women (Eph 5:22ff )
Jesus Christ uniquely esteems women. Even though the 1st century culture abused women, Jesus demonstrated something totally different.
Why Every Christian Loves Submission (Eph 5:22)
If the Lord Jesus Christ were here physically, he’d affirm that every true Christian loves submission–especially believing wives.
The Context For a Great Marriage (Eph 5:22-33 )
Don’t ever forget that Paul wrote an entire letter to the Ephesians, and not merely verses 22 to 33. And you can’t understand chapter 5:22 to 33 unless you understand and are applying chapters 1 through 5 verse 21.
Your Blueprint for Marriage (Eph 5:22-33; Gen 2)
The original blueprint for marriage, the foundation of Ephesians 5, and the heart of all relationships is found in Genesis 2.

The People You Like Best (Eph 5:21 )
The attractive qualities you and I want to have, and the desirable qualities you and I are drawn to in others are true of every genuine Christian who is filled with the Spirit.
Thankfulness Tells You What You Really Are (Eph 5:20 )
The best spouse, the kindest friend, the parent you love, the children you want to spend time with are the ones who fit the description of Ephesians 5:20.
The Behavior of Ordinary Christians (Eph 5:19 )
There are consequences for our actions, and there are normal results for living out certain behaviors–right? The Bible tells us when Christ truly changes someone, when you are genuinely saved, you will live differently.
A Full Life: Be Filled with the Spirit (Eph 5:18b)
Living without being filled with the Spirit is living the Christian life without turning the switch on–the power is there, but we’re trying in our own strength. The moment you submitted to Christ in saving faith, the Holy Spirit came to live within you.
